Think Positively
The law of positive thinking holds that you can succeed only if you think you can. You cannot excel in your exams if you think you can’t. You must first believe in yourself. You must work hard to create in your mind the enabling psychological framework for success. You must first succeed in your mind before it is manifested through physical hard work. Napoleon Hill, in his book “Think and Grow Rich” states “whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve”. To rely on exam malpractice is to declare that you do not believe in yourself and your abilities. Positive thinking backed by positive action is an imperative precondition for success in examinations, talent discovery and destiny achievement.

To think positively means to know, without an iota of doubt, that God’s intention for every human being including you is good; that God brought you into this world to achieve an important mission for mankind; that God has blessed you with the talents to achieve your mission. Positive thinking also means focusing on the meaning and benefits of Exam Ethics and how it helps you to discover your talents in school. Positive action means to implement the principles of planning, discipline, hard work, revision, time management, mentorship, research, compliance with exam rules and regulations, healthy living, safety, organization and prayers profiled in this book. These actions will help you discover yourself and your true talents.
As you read this book, you are likely to be in a secondary or tertiary institution. To get there you passed many examinations. You passed your common entrance examination into secondary school. You have probably passed many internal examinations. The truth is that you have long experience when it comes to sitting for examinations. But the reality is that instead of our experience making us more confident, negative ideas are drilled into our minds. And before you know it, you are conditioned to think negatively instead of positively.

“There are no textbooks”
“Schools are overcrowded”
“There are shortages of teachers”
“Laboratories are not well equipped”
“Exams are difficult”
“Libraries are not well equipped”
“Learning is difficult”
Some of these statements may be true. But do not let these types of statements affect your positive frame of mind and your determination to succeed. Negative conditioning affects your work at school and your results. Irrespective of how hard you have worked, you may still fail, if you do not condition your mind for success. You have passed many examinations before and definitely you will pass the next one, especially if you deploy some of the strategies in this book.
Think Exam Ethics, NOT exam malpractice.
Never fall victim to the common misconception by many students that success can be achieved through examination malpractice. This is a big mistake. Experience shows that certain things happen to those who attempt to “pass” their exams through fraud. They tell themselves lies about their talents and by doing so enter into professions and vocations that are not part of God’s divine plans for them. They end up frustrated, unhappy and unfulfilled.
