Parents Withdraw Children From School In Bauchi State Over Dilapidated Classrooms, Fallen Roofs, Windows

Asocio-accountability platform, Tracka, has raised the alarm over the deteriorating state of schools in a Bauchi State community, drawing attention to the Kafin Lemon Primary School in Bashe Ward, Ningi Local Govermment Area.

In a report seen by Sahara Reporters, Tracka described the school’s condition as “sorry,” highlighting the lack of roofs, doors, windows, and proper furniture in classrooms where about 600 pupils are expected to learn.

 

The report also noted cracked walls, further endangering the students.

According to the post, many “parents have withdrawn their children from the school, opting instead to send them to work on farms as the lack of a functional learning environment has made education nearly impossible.”

The head teacher confirmed that the few children who remain in school spend their time wandering aimlessly, unable to receive any meaningful education.
