NGO promotes maths among learners

A non-governmental organisation, Strategy for Mentoring Initiative and Leadership Empowerment has partnered with Jagunmolu Girls Senior Grammar School Bariga to spur students’ interest in mathematics through the celebration of the 2023 Mathematics Week programmes.
During the grand finale of the program which was held on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023, the founder of S.M.I.L.E, Mrs Bimpe Bamgbose-Martins in a statement added that the programme was organised to raise young leaders and mathematics champions.
According to her, mathematics enhances critical thinking and analytical skills.
She said, “I charge the students to be problem solvers in their schools, and community because they are not too young to lead change and make a difference. We decided to sponsor this year’s program to bridge the skills gap and empower indigent students with the requisite skills they need to be productive and excel.
