University Student Exposed as Key Supplier of Firearms to Bandits in Katsina

Shocking revelation has surfaced in Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria, where Ahmad Muhammad Kabir, an undergraduate student at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), has admitted to supplying firearms and providing crucial logistical support to notorious terrorist groups in the region.

Kabir, who is studying Geography and Regional Planning, was apprehended by authorities while attempting to deliver a large cache of ammunition to bandits in Dutsinma. During a videotaped interrogation, he identified a fellow student, Manir Musa, as an accomplice in his illicit gun-running activities.

Kabir’s arrest took place at a vehicle park in Dutsinma township. He confessed to transporting the ammunition from Nasarawa State, concealing it within bags of guinea corn to evade detection. Born in Kaduna, Kabir revealed that he relocated to Hayin Danmani in the Igabi Local Government Area to attend FUDMA, under the guise of pursuing a Western education, while secretly supporting criminal elements.

When questioned about his involvement with bandits, Kabir disclosed that a school friend, Manir Musa, had contacted him two weeks prior, informing him of a lucrative opportunity. Following Musa’s instructions, Kabir agreed to receive a call from an unknown individual who offered him payment to transport ammunition from Nasarawa State.

This case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the troubling involvement of university students in criminal activities. As investigations continue, authorities are determined to uncover the full extent of the network and bring those responsible to justice.
