The International Psychometrics Centre (IPCentre), Ibadan, has rewarded two students of The Polytechnics Ibadan, Oluwatomisin Easter Adesuyi of the department of Estate Management and Mary Adenisola Sebiotimo of the Quantity Surveying Department for their academic brilliance after scoring the highest mark in the Psychometrics’ studies.Speaking at the award ceremony during the visit of the management of the centre to the institution, Chairman, IPCentre Governing Council, Otunba Abimbola Davis, said the scholarship was in fulfillment of the initial set goal by the institution to encourage any student that emerges the best in Psychometrics studies across all institutions taking the course in Nigeria.

He said: “International Psychometric Centre’s primary focus is on the tertiary education sub-sector where it designs and integrates detailed psychometric studies curricula as separate general studies courses into the existing benchmark minimum academic standards for all classes of tertiary institutions in the country.”

Davis promised to assist the polytechnic’s Student Union Government in gathering funds to renovate its SUG building, while assuring them he would visit the building to evaluate the cost to refurbish it.

Deputy Rector, Mrs. Abiodun A. Olubamiwa, who represented the Rector, Prof. Kazeem A. Adebiyi, thanked the management of IPCentre, for coming up with a scholarship scheme to appreciate and encourage students taking the course.

Adebiyi said: “This is value added, it means not only will the students pass, but they have something to look forward to as a compensation for their effort, hence I am commending IPC because I have never witnessed or observed this level of response to good academic performance.”

The SUG President, Comrade Oloyede Joshua, on behalf of the students, thanked IPCentre for introducing the online course to the schools’ curricular, lauding its positive impact on career path and nurturing talents.
