UNILORIN plans virtual learning to resolve glitch on varsity road
The Institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, who stated this in a statement, said the institution was deeply concerned about the enormity of the transportation challenges, assuring that measures are being put in place to ease the difficulty in the shortest possible time.
Akogun, who said the university management has concluded plans to bring in big buses for massive movement of students, called on the state government to speed up the construction of flyover on the Tipper Garage axis of the University Road.
He said: “The management is currently engaging with the Kwara State government on the need to conclude the flyover construction on the Tipper Garage axis of the University Road timely, and the provision of more strategic interventions to ease the burden of our students.”
The management, however, appealed to the students to be patient as concerted efforts are being made to resolve the transportation challenges. Similarly, President of the Students’ Union, Faji Tobiloba has expressed regret over how the age-long transportation challenge has continued to impact negatively on the students.
He called for calm, saying the union has appealed for a new park to be created to augment the existing park and split the traffic.
